I wrote that one a long time ago and just fiddled with it recently. I think it at least helped get me into my first poetry-writing seminar with Robert Hass. He liked that line too. Coming back to old work is the best I find because then you can really have some distance, which helps with the editing. Unfortunately, I need at least a decade before I can come back to anything and like it. Only a decade?
