Out of Time

I fell asleep in the noonday sun,
Warm even in winter, dreaming
A difficult embrace, discontented
But happy, here outside time.
When I woke to a moonless sky,
The stars had fallen, the rocks
Were cold, the door had closed,
And I was alone, out of time.
